Joy as Fairview can finally take cafe plans to a new level

-

Pupils at Perth’s complex needs centre, Fairview School are delighted to be able to furnish their‘Gallery Room’.

Since the school was built around nine years ago, the room has been well used, but never refurbished. Pupils currently manage the space as a community café, selling home baked goods and coffee.

Fairview successfully applied for and got £900 match-funding from the Persimmon Homes Community Champions scheme.

It is hoped that the cash will enable pupils to buy the furniture needed to improve the space which serves as a great meeting point for pupils, staff, volunteers and the rest of the community.

Class SG7 from Fairview School applied for the financial support through their teacher Helen Shaw, as part of a project for their Business in Practice class.

Helen said:“This has been a real class effort to refurbish our‘Gallery’ area.

“Lewis, Erin, Shona, Marlon, Neil and Holly from SG7 have worked hard on the plans for the space, but lacked the funds to make their plans a reality.”
