Blackford route plans are being considered
Ambitious proposals for a cycle friendly route between Blackford and Auchterarder are on course to take shape later in 2017.
Last month the Blackford community came together to run a survey on providing a safe link between the south-west Perthshire destinations.
The online and public engagement is now being considered with feedback to be heard at a forthcoming meeting of the community council.
And residents will also get a taste of the next steps at Blackford Games which will be held later this month.
Janet Law from Blackford Community Council said that a steering group looking at the route scheme will meet again on May 24. Members will consider the feedback from the survey and look at the results which are currently being analysed.
Ms Law added that one of the following steps is to survey the priority routes.
A final report on the scheme is expected after the summer.
Motivated residents in Blackford have identified there is a need for a specific cycle and walking route to connect with places such as Auchterarder and Gleneagles Station, in an effort to provide alternatives to cars. The A9 dual carriageway is one of the most direct routes but a footpath alongside the road is not suitable for cycles until beyond the Gleneagles golf course. Blackford residents will find out later this year what the options are for better links to Auchterarder
