Jeanfield Swifts manager Ross Gunnion does not want to be relying on results elsewhere in the coming weeks.

The Riverside boss knows the club’s Super League fate is in their own hands with three games remaining.

Swifts could not pull themselves further away from trouble on Saturday after going down 3-1 at home to Bonnyrigg Rose.

Robbie Holden brought Swifts into the game in the second half but it was not enough to record any points.

“We’ll keep an eye on the game between Linlithgow and Musselburgh midweek,”Gunnion said.“But ultimately our fate is in our own hands. It will come down to what we do, not others.

“I felt we were a little slow at starting and maybe showed Bonnyrigg too much respect.

“I take my share of the blame for that as the tactics employed were designed to contain Bonnyrigg’s threat somewhat.

“After the break we imposed ourselves on the game much more and I felt we were the better team in that period.

“Only some excellent goalkeeping and the lack of a break in front of goal stopped us equalising.

“Their manager said he was very glad to get out with three points as we certainly had them on the ropes.

“It’s still a defeat but we can take the positives of the second half

Robbie Holden netted for Swifts display into next week.”

Gunnion was unhappy with Rose’s third goal and disappointed to see forward Daniel Kelly sent off.

“In terms of their third goal, everyone thought it was a foul except the referee,”he said.

“Even their player admitted it was a foul and couldn’t believe it wasn’t given.

“But there were many other mistakes throughout the game and, whilst this one was significant, we can’t get hung up on it.

“I think that caused some frustration on our players who’d given their all and DK’s challenge was a reflection of that.

“He maybe could have got a yellow if the referee had kept his cool. Hopefully the referee isn’t too

Luncarty held off a second half revival from Lochee Harp on Saturday to net three points.

The Bleachers raced into a two-goal lead in the opening 32 minutes, with Jamie Reid and Reg McLaren on target.

Harp netted late on to throw a spanner in the works but it was not enough to ruin Luncarty’s day.

“We played some good football at times and this was pleasing to see,”said manager Jon Kelly.

“With being 2-0 up at half time we decided we were going to get some players off to rest their legs for Monday’s game against Kirriemuir.

“I felt this disrupted our play and the second half became a bit scrappy. Overall, though, I was happy with the three points.

“We have two games left now and it would be great to go out on a high.”

Coupar Angus ended their season in style at the weekend with a 5-0 win against Newburgh.

Chris Liversedge scored twice with Tom Casey, Alex Gibb and Murray Irvine also finding the back of the net.

Manager Logan McConachie said:“We were excellent.

“We zipped the ball around so well with the surface being slick. My only complaint is that we could have scored more.

“The supporters got a good showing for their money.

“We’ve been actively working away behind the scenes to have our weaknesses strengthened and feel we’ll have a squad that will be even more competitive next season.”

Kinnoull stretched their unbeaten run to 14 games at the weekend.

The Tulloch Park men made the short trip to play Blairgowrie and secured a 3-1 victory.

Mark Smith opened the scoring for Noull after 15 minutes before Rhys Davies then missed a penalty.

That gave Blair a lift and Gordon Norrie soon levelled the game with a header from close range.

Before the break Kinnoull nudged back in front when Davies made up for his earlier miss to tuck into the back of the net.

And Davies added another in the second half, this time keeping his cool to dispatch from the penalty spot.

It was Blairgowrie manager Billy Mackay’s last game in charge of the team.

Scone Thistle ended their home campaign with a 1-1 draw against North Division leaders Kirrie Thistle.

Stewart Russell gave the visitors the lead but in the second half Sean Whitworth netted a header to earn the Jags a point.

Both teams had a man sent off late on, with Farquharson given his marching orders for Kirrie and Fraser Mills for Scone.
