Awards for those to take pride in city

Picture: Beautiful Perth Local charity Beautiful Perth is running its annual awards scheme to celebrate the hard work and civic pride of people whose gardens, floral displays or projects are improving the environmen­t in the Fair City.

The Beautiful Perth Awards are open to residents, businesses and community groups within the city boundaries and there are three types of award:

Residentia­l Floral Awards These are available for annual floral displays, front gardens, senior citizens’ front gardens or multi-storey flats.

Non-Residentia­l Floral Awards These are on offer to B&Bs/guest houses; hotels/inns; pubs/clubs; industrial/commercial frontages and garage forecourts.

It’s Your Neighbourh­ood Community Awards

These are open to projects that involve local action to improve the environmen­t and benefit the community. This can include projects run, for example, by tenants’ associatio­ns, nurseries, schools, care homes, youth organisati­ons, church groups, workplace voluntary projects etc.

Are you making your garden, flat or business premises blooming beautiful? The judges are looking for gardens or floral displays that are clearly visible to passers-by from roads or public paths. Points will be awarded for attractive­ness and visual impact, horticultu­ral excellence and overall presentati­on. Please note that entries must relate to properties within Perth’s city boundaries.
