A Blackford piper is appear ing in a new television advert on STV Player.

Andrew Sinclair (52) , stars in a 20-second advert for Specsavers on STV’s ondemand streaming service this week.

The advert was filmed in Glencoe, and shows Andrew playing a tune on his bagpipes as part of a trio.

However, the song goes wildly off-key, as one of the pipers is using a golf club instead of bagpipes because he needs a pair of glasses from the firm behind the advertisement.

Andrew, who has been piping full-time for four years and travels all over the world Pipers in the new television advert playing music, said:“Being part of this quirky advert was such a great experience. It’s important to not take yourself too seriously and appreciate the comedy.

“The filming was very exciting.

“I’ve done a bit of TV work before but nothing as fun and entertaining as this.”

Sharon Philips, the store director at Perth’s Specsavers, added:“The new sponsorship bumpers are great fun and Andrew is a real star in the adverts.

“We hope that they help to reinforce the importance of regular eye health check-ups every two years at your local Specsavers store.”
