Make May Purple event
An art exhibition to mark the annual stroke awareness month will run this weekend in Perth.
The Perth Speakability Group have set up the exhibition at the Royal George Hotel on Tay Street to show support to the Stroke Association’s month, Make May Purple.
The exhibition will feature artwork from members of the speakability group, and will run from Friday, May 26 until Sunday, May 28.
The month aims to bring communities across Scotland together to do something purple to raise awareness of the effects of strokes. Many of the members of the Perth Speakability Group have suffered from strokes and the group now provides a lifeline for those dealing with the aftermath.
Andrea Cail, the Scottish director of Stroke Association, said:“Those who support Make May Purple by doing something purple to raise awareness of stroke are making a difference. We are delighted Perth Speakability is showing their support by putting on an art exhibition during May.”
Many organisations across Scotland are doing similar projects to support Stroke Association’s month, including a number of buildings being lit up purple.
