Memories from last local win

Burrelton Rovers were the last Perthshire team to lift the North of Tay Cup, doing so back in 2012.

The Recreation Park men, who this season were relegated from Division One, defeated Bank Street Athletic 2-1 at Dundee’s Dens Park.

It was a day to remember for captain Kev Davidson and now he hopes the trophy can return to Perthshire.

“It was a proud moment leading out the team that day, especially being from the village,”Davidson said.

“After having missed a penalty and then lost a 1-0 lead, we never gave up. We managed to score a late winner to win the cup.

“Good luck to Letham - it’s about time someone brought the trophy back to Perthshire.”
