Staff at a Highland Perthshire pub are toasting their latest award.

The Old Mill Inn in Pitlochry picked up the accolade for Best Pub and Bar in Scotland at a ceremony in London’s Bafta Theatre on Tuesday, May 23.

The Pitlochry pub, which is run by the Maclellan family, has previously won a string of awards, including Scottish Inn of the Year in 2016 and the front of house team of the year at this year’s Scottish Hotel Awards.

The Maclellans said they were surprised to learn they had won the regional heat of the awards, which saw them automatically entered into the national finals.

Mother and daughter Fiona and Victoria Maclellan travelled to London to attend the ceremony, and had to see off competition from 96 other regional finalists from across the UK.

Fiona said: “We couldn’t be more proud of the whole team who make The Old Mill what it is, alongside our customers who make doing our job a pleasure.

“Somehow this award seems even more precious to us, because it is a national award and we were up against some formidable competition.

“Our focus is to provide customers with what they want; friendly, consistently excellent service and a top quality experience.

We also showcase the best local produce throughout the restaurant and bar and aim to bring everything together seamlessly so that each and every customer has a wonderful time, whether just nipping in for a pint or staying for a week-long holiday.” The Old Mill team at the awards
