The game, played at the Falkirk Stadium on Friday, was part of the national team’s preparations for Euro 2017.

And it wasn’t long before the Scots had seized an early advantage, two minutes to be precise.

Fiona Brown delivered a perfectly weighted cross to the back post for Perth’s Lisa Evans to nod back across goal and into the bottom corner.

Scottish goalkeeper Gemma Fay, also from the Fair City, is approaching her 300th cap but had little to do in this contest.

The second half burst into life in much similar fashion to the first with Scotland netting early doors.

Again Brown provided the assist from the left which allowed Jane Ross to dart in front of her marker and flick a header into the back of the net.

Perth forward Lana Clelland, who plays her club football with UPC Tavagnacco in the north-east of Italy, was on the bench.

She entered the action with 20 minutes remaining and looked sharp, but the home tally remained at two.

Scotland face another friendly test this evening, this time against Sweden inVaxjo.

The squad for the Euro 2017 finals - England, Portugal and Spain are the opposition - will be announced before the end of June.
