Joint service in Dunning Church this Sunday will be held at 11am. Tuesday club teenagers will be hosting a fundraisin­g lunch in the grounds of Dunning Church on Sunday, June 25 after the service. There will be soup, sandwiches and cake on offer, as well as a number of stalls. Funds raised will be split equally between the Marie Curie charity and Tuesday Club funds. All support and contributi­ons (books, CDs or DVDs) and home baking will be much appreciate­d. Please support the young folk and come along. A warm welcome awaits. The next LECT Guild meeting will be held in Aberdalgie Church on Monday, June 26 at 7.30pm. Mary McDougal will speak about Playlist for Life gathering lifetime musical memories for people with dementia.

Almondbank

St Serf’s Church The service on Sunday of last week was conducted by Mr Michael Archibald and his sermon was based on The Power of Love. Alison Hooper was the organist and also read the readings. The flowers were kindly donated by Isobel Christie. Anyone who requires pastoral services during the vacancy should contact Mr Michael Archibald on 01738 840995. There will be no service held at St Serf’s this Sunday, but a joint service will take place in Methven Church at 10am, to which everyone is very welcome. Pitcairn Primary School The school fayre is in the primary school on Saturday, from noon to 3pm. There will be stalls, home baking, tombolas, games, beat the goalie, barbecue, music, tuck shops, bouncy castle, face painting, and much more. All are welcome to come along and help to raise funds for the local school.

Alyth

Alyth Parish Church The service on Sunday of last week was conducted by Reverend Mike Erskine and included the baptism of Nina Ava Paul. Next week’s morning worship will begin at 11am. During term-time the Sunday school welcomes children to the front pews of the church. A creche for under-threes is available during Sunday morning services. The prayer group meets in Burnside Court lounge on Thursdays at 10.30am and choir rehearsal is held every Friday at 6.45pm, new members welcome. See www.alythparis­hchurch.org.uk. Family history project Alyth Family History Project is open in Alyth Parish Church on Sundays from 2pm to 4pm. The archive includes thousands of photograph­s of people, events, schools, businesses, weddings and children, etc. Admission is free. Kirk session meets in Forgandenn­y Church on Monday, June 26 at 7.30pm. LECT Guild The next meeting of the guild will take place in Aberdalgie Church on Monday, June 26 at 7.30pm. Moira Roy from Playlist for Life will give a talk about how the charity came about, the benefits of meaningful music and the work being carried out by the team. This Scottish charity was founded in 2013 by writer and broadcaste­r Sally Magnusson. Brig in Bloom The organisati­on would like to thank everyone who helped to make last Friday’s event, Bridging the Past, such a great success. Thanks go to Dunbarney Primary’s P6 class, Kilgraston High School’s S1-S3, and Dunbarney and Forgandenn­y women’s group, the interviewe­es, and all those who kindly handed in old photograph­s, albums and maps and those who came along to the event. The next event will be held on November 9-11. Competitio­n winners were Jack Redford and Archie Mitchell. 200 Club There is only one draw left in the current year of the club.
