Air ambulance flew boy (7) to Glasgow after A85 car crash

-

SCAA airlifted a seven-yearold boy to hospital from the scene of a two-vehicle collision on the A85 near Tyndrum at the weekend.

SCAA paramedics worked with Scottish Ambulance Service land crew colleagues, Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue at the scene after landing on the roadway close to the collision.

The youngster, who sustained head injuries in the incident, was flown to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow accompanied by his grandmother and a SCAA teddy bear.

The crew was also in action at Killin where paramedics helped at a medical emergency.

An SCAA paramedic travelled with the road ambulance crew to take the patient to Perth Royal Infirmary.

Other emergency call outs for the air ambulance this week included road traffic collisions near Fort Augustus and Drumnadrochit.

Closer to home, the charity deployed its Rapid Response Vehicle to attend two separate medical emergencies this week with paramedics assisting at both.
