Andrew Miller rounds off his run at Ironman Edinburgh 70.3 Perth Triathlon Club members have been on the move across the UK.

Six Fair City athletes were in action at the Fauldhouse Sprint, hosted by GRC Triathlon Club, which consisted of a 750m pool swim, 15km bike and 5km run.

Derek Halley ran 1hr 8min 7secs followed by Katie Loudon 1hr 24mins 53secs, Trudy Torrie 1hr 26mins 14secs, Jennifer Kettle 1hr 28mins 22secs, Kelly Anne Credican 1hr 23mins 59secs and Norma Scott 1hr 39mins 3secs.

Coach Barclay Dougall was further afield and travelled to Denmark to take part in the Ironman Elsinore Denmark 70.3.

The middle distance triathlon involved a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike and 13.1 mile run. Barclay finished in 4hrs 40mins, 14th in his age group against a strong field of athletes from across Europe. Iain Wilkie at the Ironman UK in Bolton

Back on home soil the Ironman 70.3 race took place for the first time in Edinburgh - again a middle distance event - and Perth Tri Club had eight members in action.

Club results were Barclay Dougall 5hrs 11mins, Andrew Miller 5hrs 49mins, Alicja Weyer 5hrs 54mins, Craig White 6hrs 6mins, Joe Webley 6hrs 9mins, Lynn Gatherer 6hrs 13mins, Nigel Bruce 6hrs 36mins and Pam Dougall 6hrs 46mins.

Elsewhere, the Scottish National Sprint Championsh­ips a 750m open water swim, 20km bike ride and 5km run - was a huge success with a field of 300.

And the Perth team produced a number of impressive results at the event hosted by Monifieth Tri Club.

There were four podium places with Mike Harvey first male veteran, Billy Bunyan first male super veteran, Selwyn Parker second male super vintage and Gillian Kennedy third female vintage.

Full Perth results were: Mike Harvey 1:10:10, George Pounder 1:13:56, William Bunyan 1:17:43, Andrew Miller 1:21:16, Craig White 1:21:40, Alicja Weyer 1:23:00, Sylwester Nowocien 1:23:57, David Innes 1:26:37, Ben Heap 1:26:56, Joan Wilson 1:27:47, Selwyn Parker 1:37:03, Krzysztof Weyer 1:45:28 and Gillian Kennedy 2:15:01.

Rounding off the club’s activity was member Iain Wilkie, who took part in Ironman UK in Bolton - a 2.4 mile open water swim, 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run. The event is regarded as one the toughest tests of endurance and Iain completed the course in 13hrs 29mins.
