Marching back into Perth
A scaled-down Edinburgh Tattoo-type event which drew in the crowds to Perth last year is to return next month.
First held to coincide with the Treaty of Perth anniversary, organisers have agreed to reprise the musical and military extravaganza on Perth’s North Inch on August 20.
Called The City of Perth Salute, it will feature international artistes and local bands in a parade from the South Inch to the North Inch, along Tay Street culminating in an arena performance.
A 50-minute show is being lined up
The outreach event drew in the crowds in 2016 featuring a selection of the centrepiece acts.
Perth and District Pipe Band will be among the musical entertainmment.
The free event runs from noon to 3pm on Sunday, August 20. An arena performance is timed to start at the North Inch from 12.50pm.
