North Muirton plea for keen gardeners

-

Efforts are being made to brighten up North Muirton area Volunteers are being sought for a community project in Perth.

Take a Pride in North Muirton is a small group of volunteers which has been working to improve the area’s fortunes for the last two years.

The group is urging residents to pledge just a couple of hours of their time a month to help out, which would make a huge difference to the work already being done by the big-hearted volunteers.

The flower beds at the Argyll Road shops have been worked on by the group over the last year, and the group is making a difference to the area in other ways.

Chair Andy Hay called on more people to get involved and help brighten up the neighbourhood.

He said:“There is so much we can do in the area, and with lots of pots of money available to volunteer groups the potential is huge. We just need a few more locals to come forward to help - no experience is necessary!”

“We’ve got about five regular volunteers including myself and we’re doing all we can with a limited team.”

Beautiful Scotland recently paid a visit to Take a Pride in North Muirton under the‘It’s Your Neighbourhood’. initiative. The group also has a community ride-on lawn mower that anyone can use to cut communal grass.

Training is provided. Contact Andy on 07990 508601.
