Perth and Kinross Council leader Ian Campbell with David Frenz, Stagecoach operations director A number of new late-night bus services have been introduced across Perth and Kinross.

Stagecoach launched its new extended timetables on Friday.

It’s hoped the addition of later services will allow more people to visit Perth and other areas around the city for a night out over the weekends.

The number 15 (to Almondbank, Pitcairngreen, Methven and Crieff ); number 16 (to Walnut Grove, Glencarse, St Madoes, Errol, Grange, Inchtre, Longforgan and Invergowrie); number 56A (to Bridge of Earn, Abernethy, Glenfarg, Milnathort and Kinross) and the 19b service (to Oakbank, Broom of Dalreoch, Auchterarder and Blackford) will now all have an extra departure from Perth Bus Station at 11.30pm on Friday and Saturday nights.

The number 27A bus from Perth to Luncarty, Stanley, Bankfoot, Dunkeld, Ballinluig and Pitlochry will now also have an extra service running at 11.35pm.

Two new Saturday night only services have also been introduced in Highland Perthshire to boost the public transport offerings between Pitlochry and Aberfeldy. There will now be a bus leaving Aberfeldy at 11.30pm, and one leaving from Pitlochry at 6.43pm, each via Ballinluig.

Stagecoach has also extended two of their services in eastern Perthshire.

The number 57 bus from Perth bus station leaving for Rattray at 10.40pm will now go on to serve Alyth as well. Likewise, the 57 service leaving Dundee bus station for Blairgowrie’s Wellmeadow at 10.20pm will now also go on to serve Coupar Angus.
