Emerging Perth punk act’s joy at Paris gig

A new hit show featuring the bestloved songs from ABBA and the Bee Gees is coming to Perth.

‘Thank You For The Music’ takes place on Friday, October 6, at Perth Concert Hall.

Audience members can expect a evening with “unmistakab­le harmonies, colourful costumes, dazzling performanc­es and an all-star cast”, showcasing all the chart-topping singles from the Swedish band, and from the hit West End musical Mamma Mia!, including songs such as Waterloo, Dancing Queen, Super Trouper and, of course, Thank You For The Music.

The night will also feature wellknown tunes from the Bee Gees, including classics such as Night Fever, Stayin’ Alive, and How Deep Is Your Love?

Brainglue – made up of Ewan Temperley and Mark ‘Sparky’ BuckBarret­t on guitar and vocals; Ruairidh Hanna on bass guitar and Liam Williamson on drums – only formed earlier this year, but have already played at gigs across the country and are now getting set to take to the stage at Le Pop, the French capital’s premier live rock music venue, on Saturday, November 18.

Ruairidh, the band’s bassist, said: “The Paris gig has all come off the back of performing at the Unholy Messtival down in Leicester. There were folk from all over at it, and we got asked to go over to Paris for a night in November.

“We are all really excited about going to Le Pop, I’m counting down the days to go already.

“We only formed at the start of the year, and we’ve just been trying to get around as much as we can since. We’ve got gigs coming up in Liverpool and Bolton before we fly over to Paris, and we are looking forward to supporting Henry Cluney and Jim Reilly from the Stiff Little Fingers in Paisley next month.”
