Appeal to parents over child concern

-

Chief Inspector Ian Scott, who is local area commander for Perth and Kinross, compiled this week’s CrimeBeat bulletin. If you can help police with any of the reported crimes below, get in touch on 101, or you can speak in confidence to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Safe Summer

In my bulletin on July 19, I talked about Operation Myriad, a threemonth national campaign which aims to tackle alcohol-related violence, offensive weapons and disorder and anti-social behaviour, and which will be delivered by local police divisions, targeting hot spots specific to their local violence profile.

In the past week, there have been several calls from the public in relation to groups of young people, some under the influence of alcohol, engaging in acts of anti-social behaviour.

Incidents have been reported in the South inch and Glenearn Road areas of Perth.

There has also been an increase in reports of children climbing on roofs and causing damage to school buildings at Kinross Primary School, Moncreiffe Primary School and North Muirton Primary School.

I urge parents and guardians to ensure they are aware where their children are going and what they are doing in an effort to prevent these acts of vandalism and antisocial behaviour.
