Drivers to be hit by A90 roadworks
Motorists heading around Perth are facing roadwork delays this week as essential bridge maintenance is carried out on the M90.
Work on the Craigend Interchange, used by around 30,000 vehicles every day, started on Monday, August 7 and will include upgrading the road safety barriers.
The first phase of upgrades will see works on the M90 northbound slip road into Perth (A912 Edinburgh Road), with a second phase starting on Monday, August 14 on the A912 southbound carriageway towards Bridge of Earn.
Traffic will be cut to a single lane as both a northbound and southbound carriageway are to be closed. A temporary speed limit of 30mph put in place.
The closures will stay on the Craigend Interchange until the works are completed on Sunday, August 20.
Andy Thompson, BEAR Scotland’s northeast representative, said: “These works will allow us to ensure the trunk road network remains at the highest standard, and the improvements are essential to ensure the bridges remain safe for road users.
“The lane closures will protect our team and the public while the bridge maintenance is completed. Every effort will be made to reduce any impact to road users during this scheme, and our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as possible.
“We encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-todate journey information.”
