SCAA’s road rescues

-

Road traffic collisions in Perth and Kinross district have dominated Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance mission log in the past week.

SCAA was on scene within minutes following a road traffic collision involving a bus near Kinross.

Multiple casualties were reported at the scene of the accident at Balado crossroads and SCAA was just one of the many emergency services in attendance.

SCAA paramedics worked with colleagues at the scene, assessing and treating the passengers involved.

A seriously injured motorcyclist saw the charity helicopter air ambulance fly to Bridge of Cally later that same day. The injured man was airlifted from the A93 accident scene to Ninewells Hospital at Dundee.

Another road traffic collision involving a motorcyclist took the crew to a minor road near Redgorton. The injured rider was airlifted to Ninewells.

SCAA paramedics were also quickly on scene to assist at a road traffic collision on the A91 near Balado Airfield. A woman from a car suffered lower back injuries and was taken to hospital by road ambulance.

The air ambulance was also in action further afield this week. The crew took to the air to fly to Mull where a tourist sustained leg injuries after falling at a local beauty spot. She was airlifted for advanced care to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital at Glasgow.
