Accessible houses in Fair City are completed
Construction firm CCG Scotland has completed two housing projects in Perth.
The development of 16 cottage flats at Nimmo Avenue will benefit council tenants.
And a second grouping at nearby Cairns Crescent, just north of Nimmo Avenue, consists of a single block of eight cottage flats.
Work on both projects started in October 2016 and tenants were able to move into their homes by the end of July.
Nimmo Avenue, Phases One and Two, and Cairns Crescent mark the first phase of delivery across a combined total of five sites.
CCG is also currently working at an eight-property cottage flat project on Glenearn Road, Perth, with a further 20 cottage flats being constructed at Birch Avenue in Scone.
All of the flats in both developments are fully wheelchair accessible.
Perth and Kinross Council’s housing and communities convener, Councillor Peter Barrett said:“Both of these builds have transformed unsightly lock-up sites into light and bright housing that will provide muchneeded affordable accommodation for local people and also enhance the local neighbourhood.
“The new high-quality flats will give homes to new tenants with a range of accommodation needs. Both builds have ground floor accessible properties for wheelchairs and people with other mobility needs, which will be a valuable addition to the council’s housing stock.
“These properties will transform the lives of the people who live in them.”
Calum Murray, director of CCG Scotland Limited, added:“This year we’ve really expanded the geographical reach of our work enabling us to launch a positive relationship with Perth and Kinross Council on this development.” New properties at Nimmo Avenue in Perth
