Man hurt leg in fall at Eyemouth

-

Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance headed close to the English border this week when they were called to an emergency near Eyemouth.

A man had sustained leg injuries during a fall on the coastal path and was treated at the scene before being airlifted for advanced hospital care to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

SCAA took just minutes to fly the injured man to hospital – a journey that would have taken over an hour by road.

Another emergency call out took the airborne team to the west coast where a woman was also injured in a fall while walking along a path near the village of Furnace in Argyll and Bute.

SCAA flew the injured woman to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital at Glasgow.

A woman injured in a riding accident near Dalnaspidal was also airlifted by SCAA this week. The crew was called to the emergency after the rider sustained neck and back injuries while riding on a lochside track.

She was flown to Ninewells Hospital at Dundee for advanced care.

SCAA paramedics were also quickly on scene to help at a stroke emergency in Strathmore. The crew assisted at scene before the patient was transferred to hospital by land ambulance.

SCAA was also first at the scene of a motorcycle accident on the A93 near Guildtown this week.

The charity used its rapid response vehicle to race to the scene and a SCAA paramedic helped treat the injured motorcyclist before he was taken to Ninewells Hospital by land ambulance.

SCAA’s fully equipped 4x4 land vehicle was also used to attend an emergency at Bridge of Earn this week. *** SCAA is delighted that one of our key supporters – the Pitlochry Station Bookshop – has been shortlisted in the Scottish Fundraising Awards.
