Ryan fourth home at Touch of Tartan

Perth Road Runners were at the Perth Touch of Tartan half-marathon.

Twenty-seven green vests joined the start at Scone Airport and Duncan Ryan stormed across the finish mark at the North inch fourth overall in 1:23.50 and first in his age category.

Martin McEwan was sixth overall in 1:24.53 with Kevin Riddell eighth in 1:26.36. Sonjia Crow was first female road runner home in 1:40.25, followed by Rhona Younger in 1:42.20 and Fiona Angus in 1:48.26. Derek Swan set a new personal best of 1:52.57.

At the 5k kilt run Garry Smith finished third overall. Gillian Edwards, Barry Campbell, Scott Connor and Brian Galletly ran in all three of Saturday’s events.

Action had started with the Perth Parkrun, which welcomed 31 road runners in a field of over 250 runners.

Steven Bonthrone was first green vest home and 10th overall in 19.24 with Ronnie Glen close behind in 19.42. Claire Douglas was first female Perth member to return and third female back in 20.35, while Rosie Aitken was fifth female overall in a new personal best of 22.10.

Stephanie Boyd completed her 50th parkrun, all on the Perth course. Sue Jones also set a new personal best of 23.48.

Gillian Smith enjoyed some parkrun tourism at Reading, finishing in 27.51. Matt Cawood finished 11th overall at Prudhoe in 20.32 and Alistair Gudgin finished fourth in a field of 590 runners at Peterborou­gh in 17.28.

Hugh Daly travelled to the Aviemore event, where he completed the course in 24.13. Paul Grace and Daile Sipple completed the St Andrews route in 20.59 and 24.55 respective­ly. Road runners at the Perth half-marathon

Richard and Tessa Ward finished Penrhyn in 20.23 and 25.43.

Lorraine MacPherson travelled to Tarbert to run the 5k, which she finished in 21.27, second female overall and first in her age category.

Simon Grieshaber completed the Haddington half-marathon in 1:32.17.

The club meets at Bells Sports Centre on Tuesdays at 6.30pm.

Olympic medallist Stephen Milne will be cheering runners on at the Perth Parkrun tomorrow.

Milne will be present at the North Inch event from 9.30am.
