Trainees are setting the bar high

A group of students are starting out careers in the hospitalit­y industry thanks to a training programme.

Ten students completed the six week training course and enjoyed a ceremony at The Venue in Perth on Tuesday, August 22.

The Diageo Learning for Life: Hospitalit­y and Bartending programme provides training in hospitalit­y, opening the door to career opportunit­ies in the industry.

The course featured a two-week work placement with some of Perth’s leading hospitalit­y firms and students were also Diageo award winners complete their training Picture: Ashleigh Vallance treated to a visit to the renowned Gleneagles Hotel to get top tips from experience­d hoteliers.

Nicola Reid, programme manager said: “The hospitalit­y industry in Scotland is thriving and continues to offer excellent career opportunit­ies.”
