Trainees are set­ting the bar high

A group of stu­dents are start­ing out ca­reers in the hos­pi­tal­ity in­dus­try thanks to a train­ing pro­gramme.

Ten stu­dents com­pleted the six week train­ing course and en­joyed a cer­e­mony at The Venue in Perth on Tues­day, August 22.

The Di­a­geo Learn­ing for Life: Hos­pi­tal­ity and Bar­tend­ing pro­gramme pro­vides train­ing in hos­pi­tal­ity, open­ing the door to ca­reer op­por­tu­ni­ties in the in­dus­try.

The course fea­tured a two-week work place­ment with some of Perth’s lead­ing hos­pi­tal­ity firms and stu­dents were also Di­a­geo award win­ners com­plete their train­ing Pic­ture: Ash­leigh Val­lance treated to a visit to the renowned Gle­nea­gles Ho­tel to get top tips from ex­pe­ri­enced hote­liers.

Ni­cola Reid, pro­gramme man­ager said: “The hos­pi­tal­ity in­dus­try in Scot­land is thriv­ing and con­tin­ues to of­fer ex­cel­lent ca­reer op­por­tu­ni­ties.”
