Goalden surprise

Steven MacLean netted the goal which earned St Johnstone a point at Celtic Park – but he was convinced he was offside.

The Perth striker struck in the first half to shock the Scottish champions and silence the home crowd.

Replays proved MacLean was onside but he said after the game: “I thought I was offside, I’ll be honest.

“I was just taking the mick. I put it in, turned round and they were saying‘He’s given it’.

“I looked across and thought‘The linesman must be steaming’.”
