A record breaker... with 10 days to go

With less than 10 days to go till he makes it to the end of his global cycle crossing, Mark Beaumont has been cheered by news that he’s created a new record for riding the ‘Most Miles in a Month’.

Officials from Guinness World Records contacted him last week to verify that by chalking up 11,315km or 7031 miles in July, Mark was the new record holder of most distance travelled by bicycle in a month.

At lunchtime today, the rider is trying to make a flight from Halifax, Canada, to take him back to Europe.

Mark’s world circuit is due to end in Paris, 80 days after setting off east.
