Perthshire Advertiser

A great day and vital funds raised

Dear Editor

-

On Saturday, September 9, Strathcare held its annual coffee morning in Crieff.

Due to excellent support our takings increased from previous years, raising just over £800!

Apart from enjoying the delicious refreshments (including scones donated by Campbells), visitors bought a wide range of home baking, won some lovely prizes on the tombola, guessed the weight of a Dundee cake, estimated the number of passengers carried by Bertie over the last year (over 1600!) and tried to guess which whisky was waiting to be given to the successful candidate! We also raffled a beautifully made quilt which had been donated.

Strathcare would like to thank all those not only who attended this event, but also who support and help throughout the year.

Bertie Bus is a familiar sight in and around Crieff, and enables many people to enjoy excursions, shopping trips and keep in touch with friends.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters over recent years, we have been able to place an order to replace Bertie who is 10 years old! Watch out for the new bus next spring!
