Junior champion Rhys Barr, gents champion Matthew Munro, ladies champion Vicki Stronach and lord paramount for the day Graham Ferguson of Perth Doo’cot Cricket Club Perth Archery Club’s Outdoor Club Championsh­ips, held at Gannochy, were fiercely contested.

Former junior champion Matthew Munro was victorious in the senior competitio­n, becoming the first archer to have held both titles.

Senior silver went home with Ian Heywood while defending champion Paul Jackson was forced to settle for third.

Iain Stirling secured gold in the Barebow category and Ross Carruthers won the Gannochy Quaich by submitting the best handicap score. Cameron Bannochie was the top finishing novice.

The outdoor archery season ended in emphatic style became champion after she managed to finish ahead of Caroline Waring.

The junior competitio­n witnessed Rhys Barr shoot to victory with Niamh Russell finishing second and Katie Brown taking the bronze medal, as well as winning the junior handicap award.

A total of 27 archers took part and awards were presented by lord paramount for the day, Graham Ferguson of Perth Doo’cot Cricket Club and Len Yull officiated as judge.

The competitio­n concluded the outdoor shooting season, with indoors now recommenci­ng at Perth High School Community Hub on Fridays and Sundays.
