Going Dutch to talk bike tourism

VisitScotland led a business development mission to Amsterdam for face-to-face meetings with key Dutch tour operators.
Splash White Water Rafting and Errichel House and Cottages, from Aberfeldy, went along to invite Dutch tour operators to consider the region as a round the year holiday destination.
Representing Pitlochry were Blair Castle and Castle Collection, which has Fisher’s Hotel and Atholl Palace Hotel within its portfolio.
Last year, Scotland welcomed 115,000 visitors from the Netherlands, who it’s claimed generated an additional £62million for the economy.
With Dutch holidaymakers known for their love of outdoor adventure, Splash White Water Rafting was hoping to strengthen its ties with the country.
Peter Syme, managing director of the rafting company – which operates along the Tay in Highland Perthshire and at Pinkston Watersports in Glasgow, – said: “Our Scotland businesses have seen a large increase in European visitors this year, especially from the Netherlands.
“We are looking forward further strengthen our ties with the Dutch marketplace to continually develop
