It was a milestone morning at Perth Parkrun earlier this week.

The 200th staging of the event was held at the North Inch with over 300 runners taking part, 33 of which were Perth Road Runners.

Derek Knight was first club member over the line and fourth overall in 17:51, while Caroline Jones was first female road runner and third female overall in 19:31. Catriona Liddell gained a new personal best going sub-24 minutes for the first time with 23:42.

Earlier that day, the inaugural 30 and 50-mile Ochil Ultra marathons got underway, both involving a tough route.

Scott Connor won the challengin­g 30-mile race in a time of 5:00:11 as Marlena Nowaczyk, competing in her first ultra, was first female home and seventh overall in 5:11:19.

Robin Livingston­e finished in 5:44:07 followed soon after by Ella Webley in 6:12:43 and Holly Bryon-Staples in 6:22:37.

The road runners were also represente­d in the 50-mile relay race with the team of Julie Ramsay, Stephane Reid, Sandra Taylor, Stuart Cairns and Cheryl Gahan, finishing sixth place in 9:11:11.

The second relay team of Sara Baillie, Kris Mitch, Jennifer Gilbert, Gillian Douglas and Diane White finished strongly, while Daile Sipple, Laurie Carruthers, Margaret McIntosh, Cath Livingston­e and Gillian Smith finished the 50-mile route soon after in 11:30:00.

Twenty green vests made the trip to a very wet Glasgow on Sunday to take part in the Great Scottish run weekend.

Duncan Ryan finished the 10K in 37:03 followed by Michael Souter in 37:13. Richard Ward gained a new personal best time of 39:45, with Stewart Dallas in 47:53 and Jane Dernie in 1:03:30.

Ronnie Glen was first road runner home in the half marathon with a new personal best time of 1:23:57. Garry Smith ran 1:31:57, Brian Galletly 1:36:05 and Paul Stewart 1:36:10. Richard Hughes gained a new personal best time of 1:36:36. Nina Roberts was first female road runner home in 1:59:40, followed by Susan Smith in 2:05:16 and Sarah Paton in 2:11:49. Barry Campbell 1:39:24, Stewart Reid 1:43:03, David McFadyen 1:46:28, Craig Antrobus in 1:47:46, Hugh Daly 1:53:28, Peter Ritchie in 1:59:27 and Caroline Hogarth completed the line-up in 2:24:29.

Simon Grieshaber, meanwhile, travelled to Germany for the Cologne Marathon, finishing in an impressive 3:23:09, knocking three minutes off his previous best time.

Mike Dales and Fiona Manson were also in marathon action on Sunday, taking on the challengin­g Glencoe Marathon with its 1600 metres of ascent between Glencoe and Glen Nevis, by way of Kinlochlev­en.

Mike completed the course in 5.37.35 to place 224th and Fiona managed 5.47.26 to come home 251st.
