Perth team Stepps up to the plate
Nine was just fine for Perthshire Hockey Club’s men’s first team as they romped to weekend victory against Stepps.
Shire dominated this National League Division Two fixture from the first whistle and were 5-0 ahead at the break.
The pace slowed in the second half and, while a couple of lapses of concentration crept in, the end result remained comfortable.
Scorers for Shire in the 9-2 win were Michael Robertson, Scott Turkington, Lewis Pyke (3), Adam Czub (3) and Calum Berry.
The team were further boosted this week when long term sponsor Bridgehill Cottage Bed and Breakfast continued their support.
This weekend the men’s first team face a difficult trip to face off against Watsonians, who are one of the favourites for the title.
