Tots make waves fundraising
Four Perthshire pools brimming with babies eager to swim helped the tiny tots charity Tommy’s raise £24,500 recently.
The 2017 Splashathon saw Water Babies, the baby and toddler swim school, make waves at Capability Scotland, Perth, Kilgraston School, and Castlebrae in Auchterader.
Splashathon sees hundreds of babies and toddlers make a splash, with little ones aged 12 weeks to four years swimming a width, dressed as Superheroes. Money raised for Tommy’s will go towards vital research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth, helping up to 60,000 families nationally.
Wendy Lambie of Water Babies Scotland Central said:“Water Babies has been a proud partner of the Tommy’s Splashathon since 2006 and we are over the moon to have raised so much this year.
“The enthusiasm and passion shown by all our little splashers and
The Splashathon raised £24,500 their families has been overwhelming and we’d like to say a really big thank you to all those who took part and also those who donated. Tommy’s is obviously a charity close to many parents’hearts.”
Raising £1million during this year’s Splashathon will help 60,000 women have access to clinics, at the Tommy’s centres, such as the Tommy’s National Centre for Miscarriage Research.
