London firm will work with architects

- Rachel Clark

Designers for the new-look Perth City Hall and Perth Museum and Art Gallery were officially unveiled yesterday. Metaphor has been announced as the new “interpretation and exhibition” designers for both city centre venues, and will work to develop new interiors and exhibition spaces in the two landmark buildings.

The London-based designers will need to work alongside Mecanoo – the chosen architects for Perth City Hall – and Hoskins Architects, the firm given the brief to transform Perth Museum and Art Gallery.

Currently, the company is developing exhibitions for the upcoming St Kilda Visitor Centre on the Isle of Lewis.

Helen Smout, chief executive of Culture Perth and Kinross, said: “The museum collections of Perth and Kinross are of national significance and we will be bringing the stories they tell to life at City Hall and Perth Museum and Art Gallery - for local people and visitors from across the UK and the world.”
