German tour operators’ Segway ride
Crieff Hydro was chosen as a place to show off the region’s tourism to a group of visiting event organisers from Germany.
Nine reps from the German business events market came as guests of VisitScotland and discovered a number of activities, including Segway riding.
The familiarisation trip formed part of the Meet in Scotland event in Edinburgh, which brought together 25 event planners with 25 Scottish venues and suppliers, showcasing Scotland as the perfect destination for the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions – known as‘MICE’– market.
Theresa Ring, from VisitScotland’s business events team, said:“Business events are hugely important to the Scottish economy and are an integral way of promoting this country as a place to live, work, visit and invest.
“We were delighted to work with Perth and Kinross Council to bring this group to the region to showcase some of its best venues and activities.”
Councillor Colin Stewart, convener of Perth and Kinross Council’s environment, enterprise and infrastructure committee, said:“Business tourism is one of the key priorities set out in the Perth City Plan 2015-2025.
