First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has stressed how important events like WOW are to open up the debate on gender equality and keep focus on the issue A plethora of events are taking place outwith Perth Concert Hall as part of this week’s WOW Festival.

Culture Perth and Kinross invites all WOW audience members to join them between 1.30-3.30pm today for a session called ‘Welcoming Hands’ at Perth Museum and Art Gallery.

Artist Jill Skulina leads a workshop encouragin­g play with materials and concepts within the work of

Louise Bourgeois – one the 21st Century’s most celebrated creative talents.

In addition, the museum is hosting a guided exhibition tour and talk to get under the skin of French-American artist Bourgeois from 1-3pm on Saturday led by Culture PK creative learning officer Helen O’Brien.

Elsewhere, an outdoor session titled ‘Self-Care on the Move’ offers festival-goers the chance to go for a wander with a WOW volunteer in the South Inch from noon-2pm on Sunday.

Anyone interested should meet at the top of Scott Street where those taking part will be buddied up with each other
