Open Day celebrates move to new premises

-

Dental Care Perth is celebrating its move to a purpose-built city centre surgery with an Open Day on Saturday, October 28.

It provides an opportunity for new and current NHS and private patients to look over the converted former bank building in Perth’s South Methven Street.

The milestone event, from 11am to 2pm will also raise awareness and funds for chosen charity Myeloma UK, a cause close to the team’s hearts as one of their number is currently undergoing treatment.

They want to show Donna that they are supporting her as much as she has supported them through her 12 years there.

Clinical director Constantinos Loizides, an Edinburgh University graduate, seized the opportunity to relocate the practice and a 17-strong team from Princes Street and, after working closely with local developers Verimac, he has been delighted with the reaction of patients to the new, state-of-theart ground floor practice.

“Our old premises had served us well but it was essential that we responded to fast-changing technological developments to provide our patients with the very best treatment and a comfortable, contemporary environment,” said Constantinos.

“We are proud of the new facility and the Open Day is the perfect opportunity to show it off to patients new and old.”

Dental Care Perth has invested heavily in creating six consulting rooms and is rolling out an even more wide-ranging array of treatments.

These include dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, one-visit crowns, tooth whitening and invisible braces.

The disabled access-friendly South Methven Street practice is one of the few in Tayside to have invested in a hi-tech 3D scanner to fast-track crowns.

Constantinos explained: “A digital camera takes a photograph of the inside of the mouth and the tooth we are working on.

“We can by-pass the putty impressions many will be familiar with and it is much more comfortable for the patient. The new crown is computerdesigned and is made here on the premises.

“So, in the majority of cases, just one visit is required, whereas previously we would be looking at a week at least.”

The perception of cosmetic dentistry has been changing in recent years and it’s no longer just about a ‘Hollywood smile’.

Constantinos said: “Cosmetic dentistry is becoming more affordable because of technological advances, whether it is teeth whitening, adult cosmetic braces, crowns or implants.

“Thankfully, there are so many better alternatives to dentures nowadays.”

The new 4000 square foot surgery has been future-proofed with the installation of more than a mile of cabling behind the scenes, in anticipation of ongoing digital developments geared towards providing dental care of the highest quality.

The practice has open books for both NHS and private patients.
