Missed big chances to quiz NHS over Crieff

Dear Editor

-

I would just like to draw your attention to an incident which occurred recently.

NHS Tayside held a meeting in the Royal George Hotel, Perth, to explain the situation regarding the health service in Perth and Kinross .

Mr Raymond Keay and I decided to go to the meeting, which was on October 3 and chaired by Professor John Connell, chairman of NHS Tayside.

We left in what we thought would be plenty of time to get parked and get a seat in the hotel. How wrong can one be! We got parked after a search, and just got a seat in the hotel. It was absolutely packed and the only disappointment was that we were the only two people from Crieff.

Well, after some discussions in high places, a meeting was arranged to be held in the Crieff campus and chaired by Professor Stonebridge and his medical team on Thursday, October 12.

Mr Raymond Keay and I again attended and again we were the only two locals who attended! To say we were surprised and annoyed, would be true. There was the chance to ask questions but no-one seemed to be interested?

However, the night was not wasted, as it turned out to be quite a good question and answer session and Professor Stonebridge and his team were excellent. What a chance Crieff missed twice!

Strathearn ward councillor Roz McColl was in attendence. Tom Handy, Cameron Place, Crieff
