Unfortunat­ely, my letter did not get included in your paper.

Now Mr Cross tars all EV drivers as greedy for accepting free charging, receiving government grants (which are only £4500 for pure EVs and £2500 for PHEVs rather than the £5000 figure which he quotes), not paying tax, and parking for free all day, and being subsidised by the local authoritie­s.

Perhaps he should accept the above benefits of driving an EV and the fact that the £4B costs of driving a ICE car are unsustaina­ble and buy an EV himself.
