Continued Heritage associatio­n The associatio­n meets on the first Friday of each month at 7.30pm. As the bowling club has closed down the new venue for the group is the St Anne’s Church hall on Forfar Road. Remembranc­e A Remembranc­e service will be held at the Abbey Church on Sunday, November 12, at 10.45am. This will be followed at noon by a parade led by Coupar Angus Pipe Band, from the Cross to the war memorial at Coupar Angus primary school, where there will be a short service by Rev Andy Gray. Coupar Angus and Bendochy community council and local councillor­s will lay wreaths. Organisers want as many people as possible to represent local groups and veterans at the service.

Dunning

Church A joint service in Aberuthven Church will be held this Sunday, October 29 at 11am. Anyone who requires a lift or who can provide a lift to others should meet outside Dunning Church at 10.35am. Tuesday club Residents are requested to help the young people of Dunning Tuesday Club to win funding from the Aviva Community Fund for their planned project to bridge the generation gap. People will need to supply their email address, but it is free to register and vote - there is no obligation. As many votes as possible are needed as soon as possible.

Errol

Church A fete will be held in the village hall this Saturday, October 28 from 10am to 12.30pm. A family service will be held on Sunday, October 29 at 11am, led by Rev John MacGregor. Revive Cafe will take place in the village hall on Wednesday, November 1 at 1pm to 2.30pm; choir practise will be in the Sidlaw room at 7pm. Kirk session will next meet on Thursday, November 2 at 7pm, and a communion service and Messy Church event will take place on Sunday, November 5.

Forteviot

Bowling club Lotto numbers drawn this week were: 3, 9, 12 and 13. There was no winner and the rollover will now be £1000. The next draw will take place this Sunday, at 10am, in the clubhouse.

Glenfarg

Wreath making class Held on Sunday, December 10 at the village hall, from 6.30pm to 9pm. All are welcome along for an evening of festive fun! All materials will be supplied, along with a glass of fizz and snacks. The sessions cost £35 per person, and to secure a place, sign up at the shop with a £10 deposit. Cappuccino Join the group for a coffee in the newly revamped and comfortabl­e lounge at the village hall on Tuesdays from 10am. A selection of home baked goods and freshly brewed coffee will also be on offer. Silent movie Glenfarg Arts Project and the community cinema will bring an authentic silent movie experience to the village hall on Friday, November 3. ‘The Gold Rush’ is packed full of comedy and pathos and with an academy award-nominated music score played from sheet music by the amazing Dave Watt. Coffee morning A coffee morning in aid of the Renal Unit at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee will be held in Kettins Parish Church hall from 10am to 11.30am on Saturday, November 18. Church The service on Sunday was conducted jointly by Rev Peggy Ewart-Roberts and Rosemary Patterson. Organist was Janet Coyle and Valerie Gordon read from Isaiah chapter 45, verses 1-12 and John chapter two, verses 13-17. Parishione­rs are reminded to bring their filled shoe boxes for the Blythswood appeal to the church this Sunday. Next week the church will remember the beginning of the Reformatio­n over 500 years ago. Services are held every Sunday, at 9.45am, and tea and coffee are served in the hall afterwards. All welcome.

Whinnybank cat sanctuary The female cat and four kittens Sue picked up in Kirkcaldy recently are settling in at their foster home. They were slightly anxious when they first arrived, but are now playing well and are full of beans. The mum Cleo is up for being rehomed - she is about one-year-old, and is a pretty black and white cat who would make a great pet. The kittens will not be ready for a while yet. The mild weather has resulted in kitten season going on longer than usual. Sue also had a call about female and her kittens, again in Kirkcaldy, which had been born under a shed, and hopes to be able to trap them soon. Five-year-old Patch went to a lovely new home this week, but three more cats have arrived at the sanctuary. Thursday Club Kate Duncan gave a warm welcome to the Crusaders who came along to entertain the group which turned out to be an enjoyable afternoon.
