Musical talent at Lang Toon charity night

Auchterarder and District Rotary Club are preparing for the return of their annual musical evening.
Following the success of similar concerts in the last four years, the Rotary Club is holding an‘Evening of Musical Entertainment’on Saturday, November 11, at 7pm in the Auchterarder Parish Church.
The night will feature talented young musicians who were all finalists at the Scottish regional stages of the Rotary Young Musician of the Year Competition.
The soloists will be Milly Coltherd (soprano), Chloe Burbury (alto saxophone), Robert Zhan (piano), Harriet Patterson (cello) and Ben Keay (tuba). There will also be a contribution from the Glenalmond College choral scholars.
The finale will be a guest performance on piano from Iain Clarke, winner of the UK national final of the Rotary Competition in 2015 and gave a much acclaimed performance at Perth Concert Hall at the Rotary Concert last September. He will be playing Beethoven, Rachmaninoff and Satie.
Amongst the other performances, there will be a Mozart Horn Concerto (on tuba),‘The Swan’from Carnival of the Animals on cello, a variety of songs from opera and musical theatre and some jazzy saxophone including ‘Baker Street’and a Grieg piano sonata.
Proceeds from the Evening will be donated to Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance, Rotary Shelter Box and other local charities.
