Make your mark on new stage

-

Theatre-lovers will be able to make their own mark on the newly transformed Perth Theatre by having a plaque named after them.

Fans will be able to become part of the fabric of the historic building by having their names feature on dedicated plaques on seats in both the restored Edwardian auditorium and in the new studio theatre, or on the supporters’wall inside the main building for at least the next 20 years.

Louisa Evans, head of development at Horsecross Arts, said:“We are thrilled at the level of support and interest the Transform Perth Theatre project has generated, not only from big funders, trusts and businesses, but also from individual theatre lovers.

“The Make Your Mark scheme gives everyone the chance to donate to the future of Perth Theatre and become an integral part of the beautifully restored and redeveloped venue for many years to come.”

Those who donate £250 to Perth Theatre will have their name featured on a chair in the new studio theatre, and donations of more than £400 will have their generosity recognised on a seat in the main Edwardian auditorium.

Donations of over £1000 will have their names set in stone on the supporters’wall at the theatre’s new Mill Street entrance.

Individuals who donate £50 to the newly-refurbished theatre will also be credited for their donation in the theatre’s official reopening brochure.

Those whose names featured on either a seat plaque or a wall till before the B-listed theatre closed for its £16.6m restoration will continue to be honoured in a special feature wall on the staircase leading up from the High Street entrance.

Louisa added:“We would love to hear from participants in past dedication schemes and we look forward to continuing to honour their contributions.”

Horsecross Arts is now looking forward to officially reopening Perth Theatre’s box office, cafe and bar on Monday, November 13, and to welcoming members of the public in for their open house event on Saturday, November 18.

The first performance in the new-look theatre will be the Christmas panto Aladdin, which will run from Saturday, December 9 until Saturday, January 6.
