Pre­par­ing to­honour war dead

The Le­gion Scot­land Cri­eff branch is invit­ing all exser­vice­men and women and mem­bers of the com­mu­nity to at­tend Sun­day’s an­nual Re­mem­brance Day pa­rade and church ser­vice at Cri­eff Parish Church and at the short ser­vice and wreath-lay­ing cer­e­mony at the war me­mo­rial.

The pa­rade will form at the Le­gion’s Perth Road clu­b­rooms at 10.15am and march off at 10.30am to Cri­eff Parish Church for the ser­vice, which will last ap­prox­i­mately an hour.

Af­ter­wards, the pa­rade will re-form and march to the war me­mo­rial in Com­rie Street for a short ser­vice and the lay­ing of wreaths, be­fore pro­ceed­ing to James Square for dis­missal.

In Com­rie, fol­low­ing wor­ship at Com­rie Parish Church at 10am, a pa­rade will form and march to the war me­mo­rial for the ser­vice of re­mem­brance and wreath lay­ing at 10.50am.

In St Fil­lans, the com­mu­nity should gather at the war me­mo­rial at 10.50am for the ser­vice of Re­mem­brance. This will be fol­lowed by wor­ship at Dun­durn Parish Church at 11.15am.

Muthill will sound the last post at its wreath-lay­ing cer­e­mony at the war me­mo­rial, which be­gins at 10.50am. There will be a ser­vice in the Parish Church at 11.30am.

In Auchter­arder, res­i­dents and rep­re­sen­ta­tives from lo­cal or­gan­i­sa­tions and uni­formed ser­vices are asked to as­sem­ble at 10.45am at the war me­mo­rial for an act of re­mem­brance and wreath lay­ing.

Those at­tend­ing can then process down to the parish church in the High Street, for the ec­u­meni­cal ser­vice at 11.30am.

Acts of Re­mem­brance will also take place in Braco, Black­ford and Mad­derty.
