Preparing tohonour war dead
The Legion Scotland Crieff branch is inviting all exservicemen and women and members of the community to attend Sunday’s annual Remembrance Day parade and church service at Crieff Parish Church and at the short service and wreath-laying ceremony at the war memorial.
The parade will form at the Legion’s Perth Road clubrooms at 10.15am and march off at 10.30am to Crieff Parish Church for the service, which will last approximately an hour.
Afterwards, the parade will re-form and march to the war memorial in Comrie Street for a short service and the laying of wreaths, before proceeding to James Square for dismissal.
In Comrie, following worship at Comrie Parish Church at 10am, a parade will form and march to the war memorial for the service of remembrance and wreath laying at 10.50am.
In St Fillans, the community should gather at the war memorial at 10.50am for the service of Remembrance. This will be followed by worship at Dundurn Parish Church at 11.15am.
Muthill will sound the last post at its wreath-laying ceremony at the war memorial, which begins at 10.50am. There will be a service in the Parish Church at 11.30am.
In Auchterarder, residents and representatives from local organisations and uniformed services are asked to assemble at 10.45am at the war memorial for an act of remembrance and wreath laying.
Those attending can then process down to the parish church in the High Street, for the ecumenical service at 11.30am.
Acts of Remembrance will also take place in Braco, Blackford and Madderty.
