People in Dunkeld and Birnam will be able to have another say on what work they would wish to see completed when the A9 is eventually dualled between the Pass of Birnam and the Tay Crossing at a special event being held in Dunkeld tomorrow.

Over the last 18 months, the Birnam to Ballinluig A9 Community Group group has been gathering ideas and opinions from locals using surveys, workshops and other events on what people want to see – or don’t want to see from the dualling of the A9.

And the group says tomorrow’s special event is being held to encourage as many people as possible to put forward their opinions on what the project’s outcomes should be one more time ahead of Transport Scotland settling on a “preferred option”.

Group co-ordinator Alasdair Wylie commented: “We want to ensure that we can have a say in how it is done, and ensure that the community has its voice heard throughout the process.

“This partnership cocreative approach has never been done before, and it is a very exciting opportunity for the community to be involved and have their say. It’s a oneoff opportunity for us, so we need to get as many people involved as possible.”

The Big Community Ask is happening tomorrow from 10.45am to 2pm at the Duchess Anne, Dunkeld. Locals are being asked to drop in for food, music, children’s activities and a chance to comment on the project.
