Abbey Church The service on Sunday was led by Rev Andy Graham. Hymns were from the church hymnary book and were appropriate to the theme of the service, Praise the Lord, based on the Bible reading of Psalm 146. The minister reminded those gathered how teaching children appropriate manners and praising them for their good behaviour and achievements would result in a much better society if extended to other people. The congregation was asked to consider how often it gave praise to the Lord for all he does. Rev Graham preached that this should be done in both good and bad times. The lessons of the Bible demonstrated how God remained faithful to his flock. The music played by organist and choir master, Austin Wilkie, was Largo by Handle, Gagliarda by Jean de Macaque and Trumpet Voluntary by J Clarke. There will be no prayer group or Bible study this week. These will resume next Wednesday, November 15, at 2pm and 7.15pm respectively.
