Noteworthy performanc­es as Fair City plays host to festival

The 67th Accordion and Fiddle Festival was held within Perth’s Salutation Hotel and St John’s Episcopal Church recently.

Competitor­s from all over Scotland, including the islands converged on Perth for the weekend.

The competitio­ns ran all day and the accordion adjudicato­rs were Colin Dewar, Jim Cleland, Sandy Lindsay and Leonard Brown. The fiddle adjudicato­rs were Bryan Gear and Mary Small.

The festival – held on October 28 – had well over 200 competitor­s with a lot of young new competitor­s.

The Senior All Scotland Accordion Champion was won by Matthew MacLennan.

In 2018 the festival will be held on Saturday, October 27.
