Noteworthy performances as Fair City plays host to festival
The 67th Accordion and Fiddle Festival was held within Perth’s Salutation Hotel and St John’s Episcopal Church recently.
Competitors from all over Scotland, including the islands converged on Perth for the weekend.
The competitions ran all day and the accordion adjudicators were Colin Dewar, Jim Cleland, Sandy Lindsay and Leonard Brown. The fiddle adjudicators were Bryan Gear and Mary Small.
The festival – held on October 28 – had well over 200 competitors with a lot of young new competitors.
The Senior All Scotland Accordion Champion was won by Matthew MacLennan.
In 2018 the festival will be held on Saturday, October 27.
