Go wild about flowers at talk
Perthshire resident and orchid aficionado Martin Robinson is to give a talk at Kirkmichael Session House on the wild orchids of Scotland later this month.
Orchids are more numerous and diverse in the local countryside than many people realise and always exude a certain charisma and mystique, created by their beauty and fascinating pollination mechanisms.
Martin, who lives at Enochdhu, has studied them for many years, mostly in the UK but also in Europe – especially France. He will explain what he feels is so special about them and illustrate which ones can be found in this area and in Scotland generally.
Martin is the botanical recorder for east Perthshire and runs botanical courses at Kindrogan Field Centre, located near to where he lives.
This latest talk is on Wednesday, November 22 at 7.30pm.Entry is a £2 donation at the door in aid of Session House funds. Teas, coffees and biscuits will be provided.
