Mental health training

People in Perthshire who would like to training to help people with mental health issues can take a free two -day course in either Perth or Aberfeldy in a month’s time.

The course takes a total of 12 hours to complete and is designed to give people an understand­ing of suicide, self-harm and mental health problems such as depression, anxiety and panic attacks.

Those who complete the training will be able to provide an initial response to others in distress until more suitable or profession­al help can be found.

The course is delivered by a qualified instructor and is for anyone who would like to feel confident about helping people experienci­ng a mental health crisis.

The training events will be held on December 4 and 11 at the North Inch Community Campus in Perth and December 13 and 14 at Breadalban­e Community Campus in Aberfeldy.
