Perth Film Society Perth Film Society’s screening on Thursday is about how some people will do anything for their children’s happiness.
Romanian film‘Graduation’ or Bacalaureat (15), showing on November 16, tells the story of a well-regarded doctor Romeo who lives with his wife Magda and teenage daughter Eliza in a tatty apartment on a grisly Ceausescu-era estate in a city in northwest Romania.
Romeo has raised his daughter with the idea that once she turns 18, she will ‘escape’to study and live abroad, but then Eliza is sexually assaulted.
