Deal is scrum-thing special as pub backs Perthshire rugby

The Tavern on South Street has teamed-up with the Eagles and will now act as the club’s main sponsor.
Along with sister brands That Bar and Rocablu, the Fair City hostelry will also host the North Inch-based squad’s social and fundraising events.
Perthshire RFC chief executive Allan Brown said:“We’re delighted that the Tavern has partnered with our club as a main sponsor.
“The sponsorship contribution will help finance our ongoing rugby activity enabling our boys, girls and young people in our community to participate in rugby and fitness.
“We’re grateful for the sponsorship donation and we look forward to working with John, Craig and their team on our social and fundraising opportunities.”
Business owner John Bryden said:“My team is very pleased to be Perthshire RFC’s main sponsor.
“We’ve been very impressed with the club and the quality of coaching provided to young people every Sunday on the North Inch.
“We wish to extend a warm welcome to players, members, supporters and families.”
To celebrate the kick-off of the partnership, rugby fans are invited to watch Scotland tackle New Zealand in That Bar on Saturday.
The South Street venue will open from noon and follows on from the national side’s Murrayfield match against Samoa being shown.
Allan added:“The partnership has been warmly welcomed by our members and we look forward to the opportunity to get together, watch some great rugby and support the new arrangement.”
