The stars are in the running
Gordon Bannerman and Maureen Young The local business community is gearing up for a sell-out annual dinner and Business Star Awards event tonight.
Sponsors, finalists, judges and supporters are looking out their glad-rags ready to celebrate with around 400 others at Crieff Hydro Hotel.
Perthshire Chamber of Commerce chief executive Vicki Unite highlighted the benefits for those involved with the Star Awards, which are supported by Binn Group.
“Companies - large and small - have found that being shortlisted for the chamber’s high-profile business awards has proved an excellent promotional tool.
“You don’t have to emerge the ultimate winner to take advantage of the benefits afforded by the competition.
“The discipline of taking a good look at your company in order to prepare an awards entry can be beneficial in itself. It allows you to step back and assess afresh the reasons for your business success and highlights issues that might need attention.”
All Star Award shortlisted entrants enjoy positive exposure in the chamber magazine and in the pages of the media partner the Perthshire Advertiser. A short film is also created of your business, which is to be played at the awards ceremony itself.
In addition to Binn Group’s key sponsorship support, 15 other businesses are backing the awards by sponsoring individual categories in the showcase event.
Vicki said the event could not enjoy the profile or prestige it does without the generous support of individual category sponsors.
“These sponsors each support a different category allowing us to promote particular key sectors and recognise and reward the best in the business within each,”she explained.
“Their support and encouragement is crucial in creating one the most extensive and inclusive business awards in Scotland. We are extremely grateful to everyone who helps us in this way.
