Roddy is well-versed for his night of Saints chat

-

Saints legend Roddy Grant has been added to the Football Chat and Verse evening at McDiarmid.

The lively event will take place in the Muirton Suite at McDiarmid Park on Sunday, November 26 from 7–9pm, hosted by Saints poet in residence and editor of Mind The Time, Jim Mackintosh.

The panel will consist of three former Saintees with a treasure trove of memories of players, managers, games, goals and incidents from the 1960s right up to the present day.

Roddy will join Atholl Henderson and Henry Hall.

Between the chat you will be able to enjoy football verse from published poets Andy Jackson, Karyn Buckland, Graham Fulton, Stephen Watt, Thomas Clark and Jim Mackintosh.

Mind The Time is an anthology of poetry published to support the work of Football Memories Scotland and contains 100 football related poems by 50 contemporary poets using the core theme of the good old days.

The collection also contains various articles about the Football Memories project.

Admission to the event will be £5 on the door, with proceeds going to the community trust to support the local Football Memories project. Copies of Mind the Time will be available to purchase.

The bar will be open from 6.30pm and you can enjoy a free half time pie courtesy of Yorkes of Dundee.

Saints Teaser

Last week: In May 2013, it was Nigel Hasselbaink who scored along with Liam Craig in our 2–0 win against Motherwell to secure European football.

This week: Another free Saturday this weekend with Motherwell playing in the League Cup final. What was unusual about the 1969 final when Saints played Celtic?
